Founder Spotlight: Daija Peeler

Founder of SevenSixteen | Recipient of the 2026 Startup Currency Award
Every entrepreneur has a story.
Some are built from years of experience. Others are born from a passion to solve problems, strengthen communities, and create meaningful impact.
For Daija Peeler, founder of SevenSixteen, entrepreneurship is about more than building a business—it's about building purpose.
Throughout The Boost Pad Cohort 12, Daija consistently demonstrated the determination, professionalism, and vision that define successful entrepreneurs. Week after week, she embraced every opportunity to learn, refine her business model, and strengthen her pitch, culminating in an outstanding presentation during Cohort 12 Pitch Night.
Her hard work and dedication were recognized when she was named the recipient of the Cohort 12 Startup Currency Award, receiving $5,000 through the generous support of the NC IDEA Foundation.
Presented by Sarah Mixter, Director of Ecosystem Engagement at NC IDEA, the award recognizes entrepreneurs with exceptional promise and provides catalytic funding to help accelerate business growth.
Receiving the Startup Currency Award represents far more than a financial investment.
It reflects the confidence that experienced entrepreneurs, ecosystem leaders, and investors have in Daija's vision and her ability to transform that vision into lasting impact.
Building SevenSixteen
At the heart of SevenSixteen is a commitment to creating meaningful value while serving its community with purpose and authenticity.
Throughout the program, Daija demonstrated remarkable growth—not only as a founder, but as a leader capable of communicating her mission with clarity, confidence, and conviction.
Her Pitch Night presentation showcased the preparation, resilience, and entrepreneurial mindset she developed throughout the sixteen-week accelerator.
Those qualities ultimately distinguished her among an exceptional group of founders.
The Power of Preparation
Success on Pitch Night did not happen overnight.
Behind every polished presentation were months of coaching, business validation, financial planning, customer discovery, and countless revisions.
Daija embraced every stage of that journey—from Community Access to Capital, where founders explored pathways to funding, to Pitch Preparation workshops that refined storytelling, investor readiness, and presentation skills.
By the time she stepped onto the stage, she wasn't simply presenting a business.
She was presenting a vision.
Looking Ahead
While winning the Startup Currency Award marks an important milestone, it is only the beginning of Daija's entrepreneurial journey.
With new relationships, expanded resources, and continued support from The Boost Pad community, she is well positioned to continue growing SevenSixteen and creating meaningful impact.
We are incredibly proud to celebrate Daija's accomplishments and cannot wait to see what comes next.
Congratulations, Daija!
The future is bright, and we're honored to be part of your journey.
