Community Partner Spotlight: Do Greater Charlotte - Spark House - Creating a Home for Charlotte's Entrepreneurs

Mark Babaran • June 30, 2026

Strong entrepreneurial ecosystems are not built by a single organization.

Do Greater Charlotte - Spark House Opening Collage

They are built through partnerships.

That belief has been at the heart of The Boost Pad's relationship with Do Greater Charlotte, an organization committed to empowering entrepreneurs, nonprofits, and community leaders by creating spaces where innovation and collaboration can flourish.

This June marked an exciting milestone with the official opening of Spark House - Uptown, Do Greater Charlotte's new collaborative innovation hub designed to serve as a gathering place for entrepreneurs, changemakers, and community organizations across the Charlotte region.

The Boost Pad is incredibly proud to call Spark House one of our program homes.

In fact, Cohort 12 Pitch Night was among the very first entrepreneurial events hosted inside the newly opened space—a fitting celebration of innovation inside a building designed to inspire exactly that.

More Than a Building Spark House represents far more than four walls. It represents possibility.

Every workshop, every pitch, every mentoring conversation, every networking event, and every entrepreneur who walks through its doors contributes to a growing entrepreneurial ecosystem where ideas become businesses and businesses strengthen communities.

As The Boost Pad continues to grow, Spark House provides a collaborative environment where founders can learn, connect, and build alongside fellow entrepreneurs and community partners.

Partnership in Action

Our partnership with Do Greater Charlotte extends beyond sharing space.

Together, we are creating opportunities that connect entrepreneurs with education, mentors, investors, lenders, business leaders, and one another.

This shared commitment was evident throughout Cohort 12—from Community Access to Capital to Pitch Night and Graduation—where founders experienced firsthand what becomes possible when organizations work together toward a common mission.

Looking Ahead

As Spark House begins its next chapter, we are excited to continue hosting programs, strengthening partnerships, and welcoming even more entrepreneurs into this incredible space.

Congratulations to William McNeely and the entire Do Greater Charlotte team on this exciting new chapter.

We're honored to be building the future of entrepreneurship together.

Behind every successful entrepreneurial ecosystem are organizations willing to invest in people with bold ideas. For years, NC IDEA has championed entrepreneurship across North Carolina by helping founders transform innovative ideas into thriving businesses through education, funding, and ecosystem development. The Boost Pad is proud to partner with NC IDEA in creating meaningful opportunities for early-stage entrepreneurs. During Cohort 12 Pitch Night , NC IDEA demonstrated that commitment by sponsoring the $5,000 Startup Currency Award , which was presented to Daija Peeler , founder of SevenSixteen. Presented by Sarah Mixter, Director of Ecosystem Engagement at NC IDEA , the award represented more than funding—it represented confidence in a founder's vision and belief in the impact entrepreneurship can have on communities throughout our state. Building More Than Businesses Entrepreneurship requires more than great ideas. It requires access to resources, relationships, education, and capital. NC IDEA continues to play an important role in helping entrepreneurs bridge those gaps by investing in founders at critical stages of their journey while strengthening the organizations that support them. That mission closely aligns with The Boost Pad's commitment to helping entrepreneurs build sustainable businesses through mentorship, education, community, and access to capital. Expanding Opportunity Every founder deserves the opportunity to pursue their vision. Through programs, grants, ecosystem initiatives, and partnerships, NC IDEA continues creating pathways that make entrepreneurship more accessible across North Carolina. We are grateful for their continued partnership and for their investment in entrepreneurs who are building stronger businesses and stronger communities. Together, we are helping create the next generation of North Carolina founders.
